Domestic violence is a serious problem

It is said that more than 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men in the U.S. experience contact sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by an intimate partner in their lifetime.

According to the latest data, taken from the Centers of Disease Control's (CDC) National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey, women are more likely to experience at least one IPV-related impact in their lifetime, such as being physically injured, missing work or school, being concerned for their safety, needing medical care, or filing a police report.

Our hope with events like the Clothesline display, we can reach anyone who may be a survivor or knows someone that has been involved in a toxic relationship.

Want to get involved?

Simply make your own shirt for the public display and drop it off at The Crisis Center by Oct. 8 so it can be displayed during the week of Oct. 12 at Manhattan Town Center. We will have a public reception with local leaders at the mall from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13.

• No profanity
• Only shirts will be accepted

In 2025, The Crisis Center collected 28 shirts for the inaugural art display and we hope to add to that this year.

Please note: Art submitted for The Clothesline Project will not be returned to the creator. It will become part of a permanent Clothesline Project display for future use by The Crisis Center, Inc.
